  • 10/2011 - Martin Brockamp Moose

    We had been seeing a bull from camp before Martin Brockamp showed up for his moose hunt on October 3. The morning of the 4th, Martin and his guide took a boat around the lake to see if they could get a glimpse. After circling half way around the lake, they spotted him bedded down with a cow on the bank. They pulled the trolling motor out of the water, steadied the boat and Martin's shot rang true. A beautiful 50 inch bull on the first morning, 1,000 yards from camp!

    Kevin Leary started his trip in base camp with his friends who were moose hunting. He took a great black bear on the second day, and then it was time to head to the alpine country for grizzly. Guide Tim Cushman put Kevin on a great grizzly a couple days later.

    "This was the biggest adventure of my life! Hunting horseback in unspoiled country was a thrill. The camps, the people and the chance to take a black bear and grizzly made this an experience I'll never forget."

      When Jim Hunnicutt visited Hunt-BC for his hunt, his goals were clear. He wanted a good opportunity to shoot a moose and black bear, but more importantly, he wanted to hunt with people who were fun, friendly and knew what they were doing. Jim went home ten days later with a mature bull, a great black bear and a few new friends.
       "Looking back, I realize that taking the moose was just icing on the cake for the trip of a lifetime. I was blown away by Hunt-BC's accommodations and the hospitality of the staff. Tim, Wally, Preston, Fran and Rod all became friends during our stay, and I thank them all for the best hunt I've ever had!"

    Alisa Tatom hunted the alpine country on horseback for her trophy moose. Guide Brady Cushman called this big bull in across the lake for the shot. It was a tough hunt, and we're proud of Alisa for sticking it out and taking a great trophy bull.

    Ron McWilliams started our fall season off with a bang! Ont he third day of his hunt, his guide Wally called a big mature bull from accross a lake to the bank where they were standing. With the big bull grunting 40 yards away, Ron fired and sent the bull crashing back down into the water. They were able to load him in the boat and get him back to camp. Ron also shot a nice black bear the next day.

    Hunt-BC owner Jeff Leary had three days to capitalize on a lifelong dream of hunting a grizzly. Jeff and guide Wally spent three great days checking trails, tracking and glassing. On the last day, right before dark, they put a 2 hour stalk on a great mountain grizz and made it count.

    Dale Adams bagged two great black bears with hunt-BC this spring.

    "I just wanted to say thanks again for the hunt of a lifetime. I couldn't imagine a more beautiful place to hunt or a better guide to hunt with. I was able to harvest two great bears, catch some big aggressive trout and see a place that is still as wild today as 100 years ago. I'll be back!"

    Geno was headed in to camp when he saw two bears feeding on the side of the road. He got out and put on an amazing stalk to 60 yards and thumped him!

    Toby spent 8 days working to find a good bull. His hard work paid off with this brute.

     26 perfect points, 9 to 13 inches long!

    Charlie and guide John spotted this bull from the pickup. They stopped and called to him. Charlie got ready and the bull made his last mistake. The rut is a magical time to be in the BC woods!

    Hunt: 5 Days, 1 on 1

    Weather: Low 10, high 40. Wintery mix

    Terrain: Lake      Mode: Canoe

    Craig Smith and guide Tim headed across the camp lake in a canoe to hunt a meadow on the other side. As they neared the bank, they spotted a bull moose feeding on the water's edge. Tim rowed slowly toward the bull and Craig waited for the right moment. Luckily the lake was like glass and Craig had a steady shot.
